Elder
Support Program
For older adults and family members in the unfamiliar position of care
giving, eldercare specialists are available to counsel, provide information
and help in planning ahead. Senior Prescription Assistance Low-income older adults receive assistance in accessing free or low cost medications. This is a part of the Elder Support Program.
Senior Employment Program
Mature job seekers are provided with job search techniques, skills assessment,
networking seminars and job leads. Nursing Home Ombudsman Program Trained volunteers and agency staff work to improve the quality of life in nursing homes and assisted living facilities through advocacy and complaint resolution. Guardianship and Money Management Program Trained volunteers assist staff in improving the quality of life for vulnerable elderly who the probate courts have determined to be incapacitated. Trained money management volunteers help low-income seniors who need budgeting assistance. Back to top RSVP This is the clearinghouse for volunteer activities for older adults. RSVP matches older adults with volunteer opportunities at approximately 200 nonprofit organizations. Foster Grandparent Program Low income older adults are paired with troubled, disabled or hospitalized children. A small stipend is provided. Off Our Rockers Volunteers mentor and tutor K-3rd graders, who need special attention in area schools. This part of the RSVP program. AGE – Advocacy Group for Elders Community members work together to develop and implement strategies to address issues affecting older people.

Elderly with physical and emotional needs receive extra care from
l older adults so they can be independent in their own homes.
A small stipend is provided to the low-income senior companion. |
