THE
CHARLES
C. SPRAGUE
SAGE
SOCIETY
THE
CHARLES
C. SPRAGUE
SAGE
SOCIETY
is a
special

associates
program of The Senior Source formed in 1999.
The two
major goals are
-
to
build financial support for our services that improve
the quality
of
life of our community’s older adults
-
to
educate community leaders on the challenges and concerns
of
the aging population.
|
In these days of shrinking support and public
funds, community
becomes vital if we are to meet the increasing
needs of older adults
and their families. With
THE
SAGE
SOCIETY,
we hope to highlight the urgency of giving older
Americans a higher place on the agenda of community
concerns and create a brighter future for all
generations.
|
D r.
Charles Sprague was the driving force behind
the establishment of The Sage Society. He served
as its first chairman, and he continued to guide
its development until the time of his death
last fall. Dr. Sprague recognized the urgency
of giving older Americans a stronger presence
in the agenda of community concerns. He knew
that doing so would create a brighter future
for all generations. Earlier this year, the
Board of Directors of The Senior Source unanimously
voted to rename this important group
The
Charles C. Sprague Sage Society
in lasting tribute to his legacy.
|
How your membership helps seniors
The
financial support generated will allow The Senior Source
to be proactive in enhancing and expanding our services
to the rapidly increasing number of older adults in the
greater Dallas area. From ensuring that older adults who
are frail, elderly and alone have an advocate or guardian
to protect them, to assisting seniors who can help themselves
through employment and volunteer opportunities, The Senior
Source offers services to older adults that improve their
quality of life.

Educational opportunities for
members
Another
primary goal of THE
SAGE
SOCIETY
is to provide educational opportunities to
SOCIETY
members
on the issues and realities of an aging America. Future
meetings will help educate and prepare the leaders in our
area for the age wave that will soon be affecting every
aspect of our personal, social and political lives. These
events will feature guest speakers who are experts in the
field of aging and will also include pertinent information
on the services of The Senior Source.
